Small things are good things right now. Your cards are beautiful and that pie looks delicious. Even though we managed to eat ours and that was a lot of pie for so short a time. Happy December Nan, and hope it was a happy T day. Hugs-Erika
You certainly have a lot of things to be thankful for. Your cards are beautiful and your calligraphy is perfect. Beautiful pie and great drinks. Thanks for sharing them with us for T this Tuesday, Nan.
Thanks for my happy mail!!! It's the bright light of the day when it appears. The watercolor is particularly lovely. And the cranberry and Prosecco certainly would hit the spot!
So much to be thankful for! Loving all the things listed and cranberry juice and prosecco is the perfect drink to celebrate at this time of year- cheers 😁. Loving your watercolour and dies, the little bunny rabbit is super cute and those skeleton leaves are so beautiful! That's such a lovely photo of you and the girls too! Happy wishes! Hugs, Jo x
T stands for time together with my sister in one of our favorite neighborhood bistros. Cibo Cibo translates to uncomplicated, unpretentious casual food and drink, which describes our weekly get together perfectly. Raspberry lemonade prosecco and bruschetta I love these moments, a great chance to catch up and talk about all sorts of fun things. We both love fashion, reading, psychology, classic movies, and family. I have been reading Writing with Quiet Hands. The book is inspirational, full of wonderful tips and quotes, and a great book for self reflection. I have been thinking about what I like to read, and consequently my voice in writing. I have also been thinking about word choice. I find haiku really challenging, but when I read it, I think it can be simple and beautiful. Part of my transformation challenge is to bring poetry into the moment. Here's my haiku for today's special moment with Nish. Camaraderie Sisters, memories Reminiscing and laughing em...
Nothing says traditions like a holiday...and in our house Birthdays have always been treated like holidays! We hold firmly to the belief that if there is a day you are ever going to celebrate, it's the day you were born. Luckily for Fi, her birthday is October 8, which coincides with Columbus day this year, extending the Birthday to Birthday weekend. We lined up all kinds of special treats, starting with a Half Marathon on Saturday, if you can call that a treat..followed up with some other birthday specials, breakfast out at our favorite diner, presents, bookstore coffee and browse around, made to order breakfasts and dinners, chocolate cake (yum!) and a wind down with one of our favorite hobbies on Monday... painting Halloween Vignette Years ago, I painted unfinished wood and sold it at craft fairs. Fi loved to go with me to purchase supplies and attend craft shows looking for ideas. Although it has been a long time since I have participated in a craf...
well, I will try to try it...so a few new techniques.. sunflowers. I painted the sunflower in watercolors, then cut it out. I colored the backround using some gelatos which I have seen Jo use. I will need to play around with the gelatos to see if I can get the vibrant colors that I have seen on her pages. Try it on Tuesday had a friends challenge, so I chose this quote. True friends are like bright sunflowers that never fade away over distance and time. -M.W. Johnstone Even though, the challenge was over before I had a chance to create something it was still good inspiration. While I was out for my walk, I saw this sign, which struck me as a little sad.. I need friends.. but it also inspired me to reach out to people, and be a little friendlier to everyone I meet. Sunshine always makes me a little happier, and the late warm weather made a beach day possible. On...
