Mail on a Monday..to the the moon..

The total solar eclipse...didn't see it, wasn't on the right path...partial solar, would have liked to see it, no glasses left. Tried the strategy of looking down on the ground to see the reflection through the trees, no luck there...took a 2 second glance, but seemed too bright...a dare devil I am not!

but I will be happy with my solar eclipse stamp mail...
solar eclipse mail

The kraft envelope is from Troy as part of the PTE exchange.  Hard to tell from my photo, but the teal dots are metalllic ink, super luminous.
The white and pink envelope is from my penpal Janet. She told me if you put your finger on the black dot and remove it, you will see the moon.  Yes! it's true.  A little bit of moon magic there. And for a little more magic, a snail mail letter, including a new recipe from a snail mail blogging friend.
love her card!
It's always lovely to see Karen's creativity, and even nicer to receive a card from her in the mail.
May the moon shine brightly on you!

  1. I missed the eclipse, too. No glasses left here either. Our meteorologist said we'll be getting a total eclipse here in seven years. I'm going to be prepared! Glad the card got there safe and sound. I put a flower stamp on, although I do have a set of the eclipse stamps as well, so probably should have done that given the event of the day!

    1. I think the flower coordinated nicely. I love the card. Thank you. Next eclipse I will be prepared too. I will have to drive a little north to see it. Lots of time to plan.

  2. Yup, I build a shoebox viewer but the eclipse here in NH wasn't very dramatic. We got in 7 years though. But I do like your eclipse postage. Perfect for today. Hugs-Erika

    1. I thought afterwards I should have tried a shoebox or cereal viewer, but it was the partial here too, so my results probably would have been similar.

  4. Oh, you got one of the new solar eclipse stamps! Way cool. We won't have to wait long for another solar eclipse. Next one for us is 2024. For us it will be 90% obscuration, but it you travel to Brattleboro, VT, they are in the path of totality.

  6. I didn't even know they'd issued an eclipse stamp. How cool. What a lovely bunch of snail mail. We weren't in the path of the eclipse down hear in Mexico either.

Thanks for your lovely comments on my blog.

P.S. Maybe I'm a bit paranoid, but I always obscure addresses when I share images of snail mail on my blog. Sometimes I blur them with the blur tool in Photoshop. Sometimes I lay something artfully over the address part for the photo - like a flower or a pen ;-)

    1. Thanks for the tip. I will have to see if I can figure out the blue tool. If I can't get it, I will see if my friend can help! Good idea.

  11. Hello, I went by to say hello, since I've been disconnected from everything for a long time. As always I love your work. That I still think that they are not chapucillas, but great works. A kiss.
