T stands for Tranquility amid the turbulence...

Every click of the television remote or blast from the radio brings more aggressive news of hateful words and actions.  The stress of the situation is exacerbated by the sad fact that I have no impact over the current environment.  All of the lessons of history seem to be lost.   I can only hope that at some point peace, respect and common sense prevail.  Amid all of this discord and hostility, Nish and I went in search of some tranquility. There is no place it is easier  to find than in nature, so we headed to Heritage Museum and Gardens in Sandwich.

And then we moved through the labyrinth.
Moving meditation

Labyrinth
move within, let go
circle, center, continue
 end, let go, begin

The current exhibit is Painted Landscapes: Contemporary Views.  Some of my favorites:

So much inspiration taken from the beauty of nature. It was back outside to one of my favorite water features of the Gardens.
Flume fountain into the waterlily pond
This is a close second though...
lovely view of the house
some serenity in shades of white and green garden...

and of course lots of color...

a few closeups ...

and there was some whimsy,
garden gate
which reminds me of one of my favorite cups.

We left the gardens restored and happy, with the plan to share our bright light and love.  Hope yours shines brightly too!

  1. What an uplifting post - I love it! Nature is the perfect way to find peace and tranquility and I enjoyed visiting the musuem and gardens with you 😁. The vistas, flowers, fountains and garden views you have captured are amazing, I could happily wander round and explore such a beautiful place! The very first contemporary painting caught my eye, I love the transition and softness of the colours - stunning! What a fabulous mug and I hope your light shines brightly this T Day too! J 😊

  2. I genuinely enjoyed your trip to Heritage Gardens and Museum. The landscapes were wonderful, and the fountains were simply incredible. The one over the water lily pond was out of this world.

Our current state of affairs is truly sad and unsettling. Although I was "around" for the first Earth Day, I wasn't cognizant of it, or the problems we were suffering. As I grew up, I began to embrace the power Earth Day had on legislation, our environment, and big business. Now I see things going back to the way they were in the 70s when Earth Day was born. I can see and share your concern. I simply adore your cup that showed how you felt after the trip to the gardens. What a great and thoughtful post and lovely mug, too.

  3. Oh I love your cup-and your photos are just awesome--I stopped watching-listening the news since around April of this year-nothing but lies and slants on the truth which is sad--I catch just a bit of local news now at 9pm and turn it off after the weather--figure if I need to know I check on the web for a bit-at least I can find different sides to the story.
what a gorgeous garden are you have found thanks
    Happy T Day Kathy

  6. I've never been to Heritage Museum and Gardens. Reminds me of Tower Hill and Fruitlands if they were smooshed together. You and Nish always find the best places to go. I really loved the flowers on the garden gate. Maybe I need to have those flowers in the Zensical Garden. Looking forward to Skype on Thurs.

  8. Hi Nan!

I catch a little news here and there but i mostly avoid it.. To me the news is not there to 'inform' anymore they are there to 'incite' discord... I'm very disappointed with them.... But now on to your garden.. Such a nice place... I think i would have enjoyed a stroll around there too... Happy T day! Hugs! deb
