T stands for Trip and Treat

Goodness comes in  many forms, in unexpected ways..and sometimes, it's from a good deal on Groupon. An added discount to a great deal moved Fuller Gardens from my bucket list to the done and dusted list. Accomplishing things is always fun, but never more so, than when it's a fun thing shared on a picture perfect day.
Statue in the rose garden

There was a fantastic selection of roses, and they all looked extremely healthy. I am sure tender care helps, as well as the ocean breeze. Just across the road, lies the Atlantic Ocean.
North Hampton

So many beautiful roses, in a variety of colors made it difficult to pick a favorite. I finally chose this as my favorrite, both for the color and the name.

I definitely want to find this rose for my garden, heart of gold, such an inspired name.  Although small, the layout was delightful, as we ambled from one garden room to another, including a Japanese garden with a Koi pond.

There was also an incredible array of dahlias.

There was also a greenhouse.

Soon at was time to end our visit, and step out of the gates.

We took a stroll across the road, to one of the mansion like homes that lined the coast.
and the garage, where the chauffeur lived with his daughter, perhaps?
On the way home, we couldn't resist a stop for salt taffy at a local candy shop.

like a kid in a candy store.
And then we headed home to enjoy a cuppa and some salt water taffy.
Now it's time to say goodbye to July and...

  1. Nan, your link shows your blog is not found. I found it by clicking on your name in comments and going from there.

That is a gorgeous rose garden at Fuller Gardens. So pretty. In fact, the entire experience looks great. I really liked the Japanese garden and koi pond. It looks so calming.

I've heard that Groupon has some great bargains, but I've never looked at what was available in my area.

LOVED seeing you with your Sanborn's salt water taffy. Kid in a candy store is right! What a big grin.

That's a beautiful mug. Love the little bird on it. And I love your beautiful August calligraphy card. It's gorgeous.

Thanks for taking us to Fuller Gardens, then to the candy store, and later home to share your salt water taffy and drink with us for T this Tuesday. You might want to check your link and see what is wrong with it so others can enjoy the experience of Fuller Gardens, too.

  3. What lovely gardens! I have some very pretty dahlias in my garden this summer, and we're enjoying bouquets in both the kitchen and living room. I've never heard of the "done and dusted" list---love it! The salt water taffy reminds me of my great aunt with whom we lived for 12 years. It was a favorite of hers. I'd love to live as close to the ocean as you do. Lake Ontario is just not a suitable substitute.

    1. Dahlias are great! Such an enormous pop of color, one of my favorites. Bet the bouquets are beautiful. It's great to be able to bring the outside in! I feel so lucky to live so close to the ocean, one of life's many blessings.

    2. You're welcome. It reminded me of the peace rose too, which is one of my favorites. So many good flavors of taffy...lucky we got to mix them...ashamed to admit, almost gone, and I am the culprit! ;)

  10. Gorgeous flower photos, Nan. The view to the ocean is spectacular. I haven't had salt water taffy for decades. We used to go to the Jersey shore before we moved the Mexico. Love the photo of Fi.

    Belated happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen
