I love Halloween, for the decorations and making cards, although I must admit I really love, love the candy...if there is ever a time of the year that I love to indulge it's Halloween...but first here's the outgoing mail. Mail me some Art I have participated in the MMSA before...this time, the request was for hand made envelopes to exchange, a first for me! Thanks for the WeR Memory keepers punchboard and you tube, it was easy. Tools and videos can definitely increase likelihood of success... The envelope please...here they are... Since I have been playing around with mixed media, here's one for the Halloween theme over on Try it on Tuesday ... wishing you  Bright Halloween. Mixed media is definitely out of my comfort zone, but fun...this piece has a gelato backround,colored pencils, stencils,  rubber stamping, heat embossing, some leaves I have watercolored and cut out, a Tim Holtz sizzix moon and cat, calligraphy...more is more and more practice required. ...

Outgoing mail for the Mail Me Some Art exchange Here Comes the Sun The theme made me think of the Beatles' song, so I added.."and I say it's all right.", and I shortened Beatles to Bee... I saw some funky decorations in a Hallmark store, so that's what I used as my inspiration.  I added some glitter, but you can't really see it in the photo. I mailed the finished postcards off to Wanda, so she cans send them out to the other mail artists. I coordinated her envelope with the postcards, and tried to find a stamp that worked with the theme. After I finished I had a few different ideas. Next time, I will start the challenge a little earlier. It's in the mail! And if you are interested in a cute, quick read on the power of letters, this is a good one.. Testament to the power of a pen pal friendship

Tell me why I don't like Mondays....I love them, especially if there is a mail delivery! At 74 degrees, it was a beach day and a mail day! What's not to love! Life's just a beach and I've got mail! I received the following hand constructed envelope from Janet. From Janet That is my blue bird of happiness sitting on top of it, and it's arrival certainly made me happy. I am going to try to figure out how she did it, and return a similar version to her. It's really bright and fun. It's a collage of all different images which she has affixed with some sort of super glue. Inside is a sticker, A good rule of thumb...Start slow and taper off... so funny, I've already started slow, so the tapering off may be just around the corner. Yay! Today was certainly a red letter day for me! For a red letter day is anything day that is presently is  notable or memorable. And while today was going along in a ho hum sort of way, my mail slot opened...and lo and behold, what did I find? Count them 1,2,3 no wait, 4 envelope exchanges. Oh but that was not enough, a piece of mail that I had been waiting on! Here's the boodle! All the mail was great.I especially love this envelope, but then I am a sucker for color! And those stamps, such a great combination. My window woodland fairy has found a new garden. I saw a technique on TPK blog, using tape to mask off areas and watercolor around it. Mail me some art had a challenge using washi tape, so it gave me a chance to combine the two, I don't think I will have it out in time for the exchange, but maybe it will show up in your mailbox.
