A little mail...outgoing Wonder woman stamps How great are those stamps? I think they were release to coincide with the movie release. A quick design included the Wonder woman logo and the lasso of truth. Eclipse stamp For Troy, I made an envelope, in order to have a black backround to match the stamp, copied the layout idea from an envelope I received. I put washi tape around the border. the silver stars sparkle with glitter. Flower and butterfly stamp We have done a few day trips and have seen some lovely gardens, lots of color which attracts butterflies. Color, butterflies, flowers and the postage stamp were the inspiration for this piece.  Wishing you some happy mail in your mail box!

Fun mail came in this past week. The pushing the envelope challenge always gives me something to look forward to. from the two Jeans! Jean R. had lettered a quote from Mary Oliver, one of my favorite poets. Her copperplate was exquisite..and the love stamp worked perfectly. White lettering on the love stamp and white lettering on the blue envelope, very clever.  Jean W., who organizes, runs and masterminds the Pushing the Envelope exchange sent me a lovely envelope, lettered in white, and accented with colored pencils. I loved the owl stamps she used. Basketball Susan used my name to expand the basketball stamp to the edge of the envelope (right in time for the NBA draft). As a basketball/Celtics/Kevin Garnett, AB, IT Brad Stevens fan, this was perfect for me. Janet's envelope is underneath, love the gold accents on the blue lettering. Ever since I was little, I loved mail, and this is something I have passed on to the next generation. There is always a mad rush to the door when we hear the mail slot click open. There is something exciting about the possibilities of what will be waiting when you pick up that pile of mail. Sometimes the best it has to offer is a catalog to peruse, but other times, Joy! an actual handwritten note. This was a really fun one I received from Janet as part of the Pushing the Envelope exchange.  I placed a Dove chocolate on the envelope, something else I love, that is also meant to be savored and enjoyed. Like the Dove wrapper, you open it, and there is a message. In addition to getting mail, I found out a little of the history of triangle letters. In WWII, Russian soldiers sent triangle letters and they were delivered anywhere in Russia for free. Pretty cool. Janet has also visited the Clark Museum in western Massachusetts.  I have added that to my bucket list! Janet's Triangle...
