Topiaries on Thursday

Image
Interspersed between the 30 million blooms at Epcot were absolutely incredible topiaries. These are among my favorites. What's not to sing about when you are at Disney? The Three Caballeros I loved the colors in this one. The characters look so happy. Yay for Springtime! Happy Easter! With the Beauty and the Beast  movie coming out, there was a definite homage to the characters. I love that Cogsworth is dancing! Lumiere and Cogsworth Let's dance, shall we... Beauty and the Beast It wasn't all romance though... Dragon in the Water... Even the tongue was made of flowers. Those were just a small sampling of the Topiaries scattered throughout Epcot. Incredible doesn't begin to describe it. If you are ever thinking of going to Disney, the Annual Flower Show elevates the experience to a higher level. Disneyworld is celebrating their 50 year Anniversary in 5 years. There is construction going on throughout the entire complex..it's on...

Words on Wednesday...according to Belle

On our last day at Disney, Fi and I took a stroll around Disney Springs. My favorite store to browse in was the D Living Store, an homage to Beauty and the Beast.  The result of the collaboration between the marketing, creative, and merchandising staff is enchanting. It is as if a stage has been set for us to step into Belle's shoes. One of the staff members crafted this paper rose with the french lyrics of Beauty and the Beast song. paper rose Here's a glimpse into Belle's bedroom. Doesn't it exude a feeling of french elegance? Every detail is just perfect. A cup of tea, and a book before bedtime Before leaving the store , we had to check out the library. The trompe l'oeil was fabulous, with lots of little Disney references hidden among the stacks. Plenty of reading materials here. I loved the library ladder and the Cogsworth clock. Even shopping at Disney is a feast for the eyes. There is absolutely no doubt that details matter. On our wa...

Beauty and the Books

Image
I saw Beauty and the Beast at the Cinema last week. I am not normally a movie goer, preferring to wait until it makes it to the TV, so the pull has to be pretty strong.  Granted, I watched the original and listened to the score more times than I can count. We loved it so much that my three kids and I dressed up in maids' costumes and staged our own performance of Be Our Guest(for an audience of one). Always a flair for the dramatic here! So you can guess it didn't take much to say YES to the invitation. This proved to be a great decision. It's hard to decide which was better the movie or the company..Both excellent! Belle is my absolute favorite Disney character...what's not to love about a girl who loves books? Won't list any spoilers here, but they have literally fleshed out her character, and added to her appeal. Her love of books, libraries, the desire to share her love of reading all came through loud and clear. May this inspire a whole new generation of book...

Thankful Thursday

Usually my family refers to me as Annie Upper or Pollyanna. They love to tell me that I think it's all sunshine and roses. I must admit I am a glass full type of person. Yesterday was one of those days, where someone took my glass of water, spit in it, and then smashed it to the floor. Now, I am also a person who wears my ❤️ on my sleeve, and a poker face is something I will never master. Well, alarm bells went out that Mom seems sad. Daisies are such a happy flower. It wasn't too long before my son showed up with a bouquet of  flowers as a pick me up.  Last night, Fi and Nish took me to Beauty and the Beast, totally a mood lifter. That inspired my instagram post today. Beauty and the Beast. Art makes me happy! Today, Onz called from London, saying we needed to do an exercise video together on what's app. I followed that up with one of my favorite treats, a Russell Stover whipped strawberry egg. A walk with a good friend, who had an extra recycle barrel...
