On our last day at Disney, Fi and I took a stroll around Disney Springs. My favorite store to browse in was the D Living Store, an homage to Beauty and the Beast. The result of the collaboration between the marketing, creative, and merchandising staff is enchanting. It is as if a stage has been set for us to step into Belle's shoes. One of the staff members crafted this paper rose with the french lyrics of Beauty and the Beast song.

Here's a glimpse into Belle's bedroom. Doesn't it exude a feeling of french elegance? Every detail is just perfect.

A cup of tea, and a book before bedtime |
Before leaving the store , we had to check out the library. The trompe l'oeil was fabulous, with lots of little Disney references hidden among the stacks.
|
Plenty of reading materials here. |
I loved the library ladder and the Cogsworth clock. Even shopping at Disney is a feast for the eyes. There is absolutely no doubt that details matter.
On our way back to the bus, we wandered in to this clothing store.

Just the right dress for Belle. |
I love this dress with the crinoline slip. So cute! I saw quite a few guests in the park wearing it...it looked great on everyone. All along the bottom of the dress are line drawings of books and the characters. I didn't spot anyone carrying the Chip pocketbook, but wouldn't that complete the outfit?
Sounds reall magical, what a fantastic trip you had. Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteIt really was awesome. So happy to look at the pictures and share them. Happy Easter Weekend!
DeleteWhat a delightful and magical time you had!
ReplyDeleteThe designers and window dressers appreciate a good artists eye like yours to see the intricacies of what they create. That paper flower and book text oh my! Thank you for sharing your special view of things. Nice to "meet" you for T Day/T Week ;-) oxo
Nice to meet you to Patty. Delightful and magical certainly describe it. Happy Easter Weekend.
DeleteWouldn't being a window dresser be a fun job to have? The paper rose is lovely and it also reminds of the rose the Little Prince kept.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a wonderful trip
It would be a fun job. I loved the Little Prince too. Paper roses on my list of things I want to make. Happy Easter Weekend.
DeleteHow enchanting, Nan! We haven't been to Disney in over 20 years but had marvelous times there. Thanks for the photos and update.
ReplyDeleteHappy T-day! Hugs, Eileen
Hi Eileen, I think it would be difficult to have anything but a wonderful time in Disney. The flower show elevated it to an entirely higher level, if you can believe it. They are doing major expansion down there in preparation for the 50th anniversary. I hope you get the chance to visit again. Happy Easter Weekend.
DeleteI can't believe I have missed SO much this past week. I have never seen Beauty and the Beast, so have no idea who Belle is. But that didn't stop me from appreciating all the details you shared with us. I think you have a wonderful decorator eye, and appreciate the minute details most others probably miss or take for granted.
