Mail on Monday...

Image
Fun mail came in this past week. The pushing the envelope challenge always gives me something to look forward to. from the two Jeans! Jean R. had lettered a quote from Mary Oliver, one of my favorite poets. Her copperplate was exquisite..and the love stamp worked perfectly. White lettering on the love stamp and white lettering on the blue envelope, very clever.  Jean W., who organizes, runs and masterminds the Pushing the Envelope exchange sent me a lovely envelope, lettered in white, and accented with colored pencils. I loved the owl stamps she used. Basketball Susan used my name to expand the basketball stamp to the edge of the envelope (right in time for the NBA draft). As a basketball/Celtics/Kevin Garnett, AB, IT Brad Stevens fan, this was perfect for me. Janet's envelope is underneath, love the gold accents on the blue lettering. Even more special was the card she enclosed of her painting, Boat on a Beach in Ireland. Janet's watercolor This could rank with...

What's in the your mailbox?

Image
Outgoing mail for the Mail Me Some Art exchange Here Comes the Sun The theme made me think of the Beatles' song, so I added.."and I say it's all right.", and I shortened Beatles to Bee... I saw some funky decorations in a Hallmark store, so that's what I used as my inspiration.  I added some glitter, but you can't really see it in the photo. I mailed the finished postcards off to Wanda, so she cans send them out to the other mail artists. I coordinated her envelope with the postcards, and tried to find a stamp that worked with the theme. After I finished I had a few different ideas. Next time, I will start the challenge a little earlier. It's in the mail! And if you are interested in a cute, quick read on the power of letters, this is a good one.. Testament to the power of a pen pal friendship

What's in your mailbox?

Yay! Today was certainly a red letter day for me! For a red letter day is anything day that is presently is  notable or memorable. And while today was going along in a ho hum sort of way, my mail slot opened...and lo and behold, what did I find? Count them 1,2,3 no wait, 4 envelope exchanges. Oh but that was not enough, a piece of mail that I had been waiting on! Here's the boodle! All the mail was great.I especially love this envelope, but then I am a sucker for color! And those stamps, such a great combination. My window woodland fairy has found a new garden. I saw a technique on TPK blog, using tape to mask off areas and watercolor around it. Mail me some art had a challenge using washi tape, so it gave me a chance to combine the two, I don't think I will have it out in time for the exchange, but maybe it will show up in your mailbox. Washi and watercolor greetings I am happy that CJ got me started on the Pushing the Envelope Exchange.  It certainly has made Mo...
