Get Mail, Set Sail...T stands for Tall Ships

The tall ships are in Boston this weekend. They arrived Saturday, and it was foggy.  Luckily, we had been invited to a party on Sunday... on a chartered yacht.
I think I missed my calling..

Seas the day!
I's a birthday party!
Sunday proved to have fantastic weather, with quite a breeze to keep us comfortable.

Boston Harbor
Wind in our hair
This was the perfect occasion to pull out my Lilly Pulitzer you gotta regatta dress! And boy did we regatta! The crew circulated with all sorts of appetizers and I had  a spiked cranberry seltzer... Boston with a twist and a little kick. Here are some of the ships we saw on our voyage

Seen in Boston...

We cruised down as far as Hull and then it was back to City.

Docked and back on dry land, we will remember our birthday bash on the water for quite a while. Smooth sailing to you.

  1. Lucky you! Getting to see the tall ships. A cruise for a birthday party what a fun way to celebrate and you had perfect weather. You look cute in your regatta dress.

  4. I saw the tall ships one year in New York over Independence Day. They are truly a sight to see. Of course, I didn't get to take a cruise, which seems like the perfect thing for a birthday party. I simply adore your regatta dress, and was thrilled when you shared the beautiful ships that brought back so many memories.

I was really impressed with the Boston skyline and loved seeing the Zakim Bridge. I've seen it on TV, but never from the water. What a great shot.

Thanks for sharing the tall ships, your regatta dress, your time on the water, and your spiked cranberry seltzer with us for T this week. It certainly turned out to be a fun party on a perfect day.

  18. What a lovely birthday party to be invited to! I love your dress!
The tall ships are beautiful. I love seeing them, ever since I saw them in the 60s in Falmouth, Cornwall (England)as a child. I am fascinated by their beauty. Many of the big ones are training ships or special holidays for handicapped people. (can you imagine climbing the rafters whan you spend your life in a Wheel chair! I saw a documentary once about that)
Thanks for sharing that wonderful experience.
    Happy belated T-Day,
    Lisca

    1. Thank you Lisca, I hear Cornwall is beautiful, but the closest I have come is watching Doc Martin on television. Maybe someday...I love my dress too, but I love all Lilly, I am a sucker for color. I will have to look for that documentary. My mom spent 20 years in a wheelchair, we had many adventures together but that was not one of them. Too bad, I think she would have loved it. She was an indomitable spirit, who was up for anything. I miss her every day, but try to keep her spirit with me. I will look for the documentary. Thanks for sharing. Happy weekend to you, Nan
