T stands for Thelma and Louise-in' it...

Things have been busy and a tad stressful.  While a tad isn't great, as long as there are no health issues,  no complaints. That being said, sometimes it is necessary to pull out the big guns. Changing the mood may require a change of atmosphere and environment, and someone to lift spirits out of the doldrums works wonders.
Thelma and Louise-in' it
This tad was building a while, so it was going to take a full day, starting at 8:30 am, and we planned our favorites with a few new things thrown in for good measure.
Breakfast at one of our favorite places, The Wenham Tea House.

Starters before brekkie, and of course, there's Tea
After a lovely breakfast, we headed off to Cranes Beach...
Lots of open space.

We really do..jump for joy!
What's on tap next? A winery sounds good, so off to Mill River Winery...for just a taste ..or maybe two
Wine, cookies, chocolates and cheese...delicious
A little wine gave quite a boost to our self-confidence, so we were ready to tackle the golf course... umm, mini golf, that is, at Nunan Flowers and Greenhouse. It was so hot, we were the only ones there..perfect to take our time and get in the best shot ;)
Beautifully landscaped mini golf
We finished up with a tie, and celebrated with local Richardson's ice cream, available at the Kallie's Kones right outside. Since we were at a garden center, it would have been wrong not to take a peek inside...Beautiful flowers

and Whoa...
A giant macaw
Time to hit the road, after walking on the hot sand and our mini-golf, a pedicure seemed like a nice treat (excellent advice, Onz)
Goodness, it's still early...can't go home just yet. Let's take a quick browse at Barnes and Noble. So many books, so many bargains...
Lots of Entertainment value here!
It was almost time to go home, with a quick stop for a strawberry margarita and appetizers.  Then it was on to home, almost 11. We enjoyed our day together, and never once felt the urge to head over the cliff!

And in the attempt to keep it creative, and in a nod to Tea, a poem my dad used to say to me, lettered in French round hand.
one of my favorite poems
Wishing you a spirit of gladness, as you enjoy a cup of tea and take a glimpse at Bluebeard and Elizabeth's tea party blog.

  4. Looks like you had a great day and night! You really packed a lot in. You picked a perfect day to go to Crane's. I'm surprised it wasn't packed since it was so hot and humid. If your adventures didn't change your mood, a cup of tea certainly would. I love your dad's poem. So true and your French roundhand is so pretty. Happy T Day!

    1. We did! Cranes was beautiful but the sand was super hot. I burnt the soles of my feet, hence the need for a pedicure. I told Fi those feet must have never done a hard days work...baby soft! I love that poem and french roundhand is one of my favorite scripts, just need to practice more.

  8. Your day out looks like the perfect therapy for the busy and a tad stressful time you have had of late, I'm glad you had such a wonderful time with Fi 😀. Your Thelma and Louise reference made me smile and I loved spending the day with you from breakfast to bedtime ... lol 😉. Highlights for me were the beautiful glass teapot at breakfast time, spending time on the beach and jumping for joy, the combination of wines, cookies, chocolate and cheese (wow!), mini golf, the beautiful water feature and parrot, a pedicure, a visit to the bookstore and strawberry magaritas - well that's just about everything really ...lol 😀. You certainly know how to have a good time ... lol 😉. Life is certainly beautiful, as is your dad's poem both the words and your wonderful French round hand writing! Thanks for sharing and wishing you a very Happy T Day! J 😊

  9. That is one busy and exciting day. Our local ice cream stand used to serve Richardson's ice cream, but no more. :( The new ice cream is Shane's of Maine though so no complaints really. Where is Mill River Winery? I haven't heard of that. I've yet to get to Crane's Beach this year. One day the stars will line up and we'll boat on down from Portsmouth. Happy T day. Hugs-Erika

  10. What a fun filled and action packed day. Right from the start, I could tell it was going to be fun to read about your Thelma and Louise adventure. Too bad I never saw that movie, but I got the reference, anyway.

Loved how you got in the stress busting mode by having breakfast at the Wenham Tea House. Beautiful appointments, too.

Loved the beach scenes, and the mini golf course looked stunning. The landscaping was fabulous and the fountain was simply awesome. It's been years since I've played miniature golf, so thanks for that memory. Probably a good way to get rid of the buzz you got from the winery (grin).

Wow, can't believe you got a pedicure and went book shopping after that. And the margarita at the end of the day was perfect. Loved all the references to tea and other drinks today, as well as your absolutely fabulous calligraphy.

Thanks for sharing your day, your tea, your wine, your margarita, you beautiful poem, and your fabulous calligraphy with us for T this Tuesday. Sorry I was late getting here. I had my own "over the cliff" day, but mine wasn't as fun as yours!

  12. Sounds like the perfect antidote to the blahs! I tried to read the titles of the books you picked up, but couldn't be sure. :-) Not like I need to discover any more books to put on the "to read" list. It's already forever long, but I'm always interested in what others are reading.
