T stands for thought
I really don’t know clouds at all…
Wow, there’s a prism in that cloud
As we were walking up from the beach, I noticed this prism in the cloud. I did a little research when we got home on thoughtco.com The prism is known as a sun dog, which occurs in colder temperatures when sunlight interacts with large, flat hexagonal ice crystals. As sunlight hits the crystals, it is refracted bending and creating the spectrum of colors. Theories about the etymology of sun dog include Greek mythology ~Zeus walked his two dogs across the sky and Norse mythology (solhund) ~constellations of two hounds hunting the sun and moon.
The ceiling at the Boch Center
Fi and I went to Brett Eldredge’s Glow Christmas concert at the Boch Center. It was a great show and our first time out at an event since COVID hit. Proof of vaccination, identification and masks were required and while we will continue to limit our indoor activities, it was nice to celebrate the holidays at a fun event and feel safe.Van Gogh
Watercolor art
Here’s a little watercolor background practice with skies and VanGogh. Don’t forget to look up;
you may see something amazing. There’s a whole world out there.
Hi I enjoyed your post, didn't know the science about the prism and I love mythology too, so glad you were able to get out for an event, we can't let the govt make us afraid of living our lives to our fullest.
ReplyDeleteI like your watercolor art too-hugs
What a stunning photo of the prism. It is beautiful. I like your explanation of the effects of the ice crystals.
ReplyDeleteThat must have been a wonderful concert. The venue where it was held is majestic.
You did a FANTASTIC job with the Van Gogh art. I especially LOVE the cat, but they are all really very, very well done, dear Nan.
Fun fact. So nice that you and Fi were able to get out to the concert. The Boch Center is such a beautiful theater. Your van Gogh art is amazing. You had me at cat. Stay safe and warm today
ReplyDeleteA wonderful photograph, made even better by the explanation!
