Thankful Thursday

This week I had a fantastic visit with my long time friend CJ.  We normally art skype, but we've done a few field trips too! This time, our visit was at her house. Since she is in central Massachusetts and I am north of Boston, visits like this are at a premium. This get together was packed with all sorts of fun stuff and conversation. We started with a deep dish pizza at Uno's...what's not to love?

Then it was back to her house to play with essential oils. CJ brought an assortment of oils, and let me pick my favorites. After much deliberation, I settled on a mix of bergamot and eucalyptus for a hand sanitizer spray. We made the sanitizer spray with oils, distilled water and Vodka.

My hand sanitizer was coming home with me, along with a handcrocheted bag filled with goodies and a cleaning solution made with essential oils.

After this, came the hard work! Of course, having a lovely table set with fine china, cloth placemats, vanilla chai tea, and italian cookies certainly made it easier. But then again, tea parties are the best!

We finished the day going over some of her notes from a 6 month class she is taking. Lots of inspiration and things to try.

It was such an awesome day, with an awesome friend....and no traffic! Can it get any better than this?

It was refreshing to read about Nina Totenberg and her friendship with Ruth Bader Ginsberg, as well as with Cokie Roberts.  I am sure this will end up on my favorites of 2023.   Art in Bloom Art in Bloom is being celebrated as a rite of Spring fundraising for art museums and libraries . In museums, floral designers create a piece to coordinate art on display. Local libraries and Chamber of Commerce combine their efforts with local art guilds and garden clubs to host a fun evening event. Libraries, art, flowers…what’s not to love? I decided this was an event I wanted to be involved in, both on the art and floral design aspect. First up: the display case, I asked Fiona for help on this. Here’s what we put together for the event. This is my first year participating, but it provided a great opportunity to put my art to good use. Happy Spring. Bloom where you’re planted.

T stands for time together...in Ireland.  Heading to Ireland for a mini break provides a welcome respite from hustle and bustle. It's a chance to enjoy life at a slower pace, and get outside and enjoy nature. There is no place that we find as peaceful, and walking the country roads never gets old. Fortunately the weather cooperated, and the days are long...daylight until almost 10 o'clock at night, which leaves plenty of time for walking everyday. Our range was between 6 and 13 miles per day, making the most of our time outside. Not many people on our route, but not short of company. The dairy farm and creamery is just down the road, so you know our milk is fresh!  Sometimes, after a long walk, a cuppa and a biscuit aren't enough.
