I received a fun card in the mail box from CJ. I wonder if she picked up this technique from an on-line class. I love the sentiment and the design.

Looks like tulips to me.

Prosecco on the patio.

After some work tidying up the garden, we decided to celebrate with homemade pizza. We mixed it up with  a  ‘What’s Gaby cooking” recipe for peach and prosciutto  pizza, with our favorite pizza crust recipe from Joan Chang/ Flour. Different and delicious! Cheers to the bubbles!

For an envelope exchange

I zoomed in on a free workshop with Judy Detrick hosted by the Society of Scribes as part of their Spring Fest. She had some great ideas for versals /decorated capitals. It provided good inspiration for a June envelope exchange and the card technique was one I picked up from Deb on a previous exchange.

I’ve participated in a few calligraphy zoom classes over the last few months. Sending out some happy mail gives me a great opportunity to send some joy and put new found knowledge into practice.

    What a sweet card from CJ. Certainly not her normal style flowers, but very well done. Looks like sending your happy mail will be well received. It's beautiful.

    Those peach pizza slices look SO yummy. You have a gorgeous back yard. And of course, that prosciutto looks VERY bubbly. Thanks for sharing your lovely happy mail and your pizza and prosciutto with us for T this Tuesday, dear Nan.

    Wonderful happy mail with cute tulips from CJ. Someone else is going to receive happy mail too by the looks of it. Beautiful capital letters. I used to do envelope exchanges too a few years ago.

T stands for Traditions

Nothing says traditions like a holiday...and in our house Birthdays have always been treated like holidays! We hold firmly to the belief that if there is a day you are ever going to celebrate, it's the day you were born. Luckily for Fi, her birthday is October 8, which coincides with Columbus day this year, extending the Birthday to Birthday weekend. We lined up all kinds of special treats, starting with a Half Marathon on Saturday, if you can call that a treat..followed up with  some other birthday specials, breakfast out at our favorite diner,  presents, bookstore coffee and browse around,  made to order breakfasts and dinners,  chocolate cake (yum!) and a wind down with one of our favorite hobbies on Monday... painting Halloween Vignette Years ago, I painted unfinished wood and sold it at craft fairs.   Art in Bloom Art in Bloom is being celebrated as a rite of Spring fundraising for art museums and libraries . In museums, floral designers create a piece to coordinate art on display. Local libraries and Chamber of Commerce combine their efforts with local art guilds and garden clubs to host a fun evening event. Libraries, art, flowers…what’s not to love? I decided this was an event I wanted to be involved in, both on the art and floral design aspect. First up: the display case, I asked Fiona for help on this.
