T stands for Treats and Time

Patriots Day is a holiday here...a funny sort of holiday, because some people have off and others don't. Fortunately for me, Fi had off, so that meant some quality time together. I am a firm believer if there is an opportunity for fun together, you need to go for it and make it special in some small way.

We started our day with a trip to Swiss Bakers, whose motto is "our food makes you feel good". No false advertising there, they are right.

ham and cheese croissant
We were fortunate enough to find Swiss Bakers through a groupon deal a few years ago, and it was a find. It's not a big place, but it has a variety of savory and sweet croissants, freshly baked breads, and rolls.  So that we would make the most of our visit, we grabbed a raspberry almond croissant for that evening. From there it was time to head to the beach.
My happy place.
A little windy, so we had the whole beach to ourselves...after our visit, we admired the flowers at some local garden centers.

Mahoney's Garden Center
It was still early, so I felt inspired to go home and do some gardening of my own. Fi made western scrambled eggs for us. It's always nice to have someone else do the cooking and it was scrumptious. Now for my own garden..

Spring flowers
I love nature and springtime especially when everything is coming back to life. In celebration of earth day coming up, some of my favorite mugs....

When the city feels like it's closing in
Wishing you all a happy week, and a chance to get out to enjoy this beautiful world of ours.

  3. I had not heard of Patriot's Day (aka Patriots' Day) until I did an internet search. No wonder I've not heard of it. It's outside my zip code (GRIN)! It's wonderful that you were able to celebrate it.

I haven't seen a beach in years. None within 1000 miles of me. Great that it's your happy place.

Swiss Bakers sounds wonderful. I would prefer a ham and cheese croissant to a sweet one, I think. Of course, being a vegetarian, you could hold the ham on mine.

Your garden is beautiful and so colorful, too. Mahoney's Garden Center has some lovely plants and planters.

One of my internet friends goes to Kew every few weeks. I feel like I know the place, but I would love to peruse your guide. That and your mountain mug are quite adorable.

Thanks for sharing Patriot's Day, your garden, Mahoney's Garden Center, Swiss Bakers, the beach, and your beautiful mugs with us for T this Tuesday.

  10. Yes, Patriots Day is an interesting holiday since Maine and Mass both celebrate it but us here in NH don't. Yet we still say oh its Patriots Day. I love the mugs-especially the Mountains are calling one, and I also think you spent your day the best way. Those flowers make me drool. I can't seem to go through a garden shop and not anything. :) Happy T day. Hugs-Erika

    1. I love that quote. John Muir is so inspirational. I am like you, when it comes to garden shops. I have found that taking pictures helps me not spend quite so much ( on a Tuesday)...Not as easy the other days of the week😉

  12. Your blog is taking shape. I love the new background and colors. So you! I love the beach when no one is around. What beach is close to you? Revere? I've heard Mahoney's advertised on the radio. The flowers in your garden rival theirs. I love the bear on the Muir mug. I high-hosey that one when I come to visit next time. Happy Belated T Day!
