Topiaries on Thursday

Interspersed between the 30 million blooms at Epcot were absolutely incredible topiaries. These are among my favorites. What's not to sing about when you are at Disney?

I loved the colors in this one. The characters look so happy. Yay for Springtime!

With the Beauty and the Beast  movie coming out, there was a definite homage to the characters. I love that Cogsworth is dancing!

Those were just a small sampling of the Topiaries scattered throughout Epcot. Incredible doesn't begin to describe it. If you are ever thinking of going to Disney, the Annual Flower Show elevates the experience to a higher level. Disneyworld is celebrating their 50 year Anniversary in 5 years. There is construction going on throughout the entire complex..it's on my bucket list! In the meantime, I am setting my sights on constructing a mini topiary. Youtube here I come...I'll keep you posted on progress.

    Those are amazing! My favorite is Bambi, Thumper, and Flower.

    I love that one too! There were so many, I have to go back and edit. there was a dragon one too. even the tongue was flowers. Really cool.

    I'm with CJ. Bambi, Thumper, and Flower are my favs. Although you share the topiaries, this reminds me of the Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, CA, held on Jan 1st each year. Every inch of the floats must be covered with flowers and I've had the honor of going twice. It's wonderful, as I'm sure your trip through the flowers and topiaries was for you.

    Actually, I misspoke. Every inch must be covered with something natural. As an example, I've seen faces, fingers, and toes covered in various shades of ground coffee beans.

 I am a big fan of NPR and RBG and this book came highly recommended. It was refreshing to read about Nina Totenberg and her friendship with Ruth Bader Ginsberg, as well as with Cokie Roberts.  I am sure this will end up on my favorites of 2023. T stands for Traditions

Nothing says traditions like a holiday...and in our house Birthdays have always been treated like holidays! We hold firmly to the belief that if there is a day you are ever going to celebrate, it's the day you were born. Luckily for Fi, her birthday is October 8, which coincides with Columbus day this year, extending the Birthday to Birthday weekend. We lined up all kinds of special treats, starting with a Half Marathon on Saturday, if you can call that a treat..followed up with  some other birthday specials, breakfast out at our favorite diner,  presents, bookstore coffee and browse around,  made to order breakfasts and dinners,  chocolate cake (yum!) and a wind down with one of our favorite hobbies on Monday... painting Halloween Vignette Years ago, I painted unfinished wood and sold it at craft fairs. Art in Bloom

  Art in Bloom Art in Bloom is being celebrated as a rite of Spring fundraising for art museums and libraries . In museums, floral designers create a piece to coordinate art on display. Local libraries and Chamber of Commerce combine their efforts with local art guilds and garden clubs to host a fun evening event. Libraries, art, flowers…what’s not to love? I decided this was an event I wanted to be involved in, both on the art and floral design aspect. First up: the display case, I asked Fiona for help on this. Here’s what we put together for the event. This is my first year participating, but it provided a great opportunity to put my art to good use. Happy Spring. Bloom where you’re planted.
