Flowers on Friday and a follow up

Friday flowers follows that transformation Thursday theme. I love this time of the year; to look out in my garden seeing new things coming to life, and some old mainstays lingering on. The pansies seem to be lasting a long time. Since I am a sentimentalist at heart, I can't bear to get rid of them while they are still flowering, even if a bit straggly. So cut back, they remain in their spot, with a few white petunias to offset them.

And of course, there is a rose bush in the flower bed.

The back garden is filled with roses. It seems every time I look another bud has bloomed.

And talk about a climbing rose bush...

up close and beautiful!
Nature...showing the heights we can reach if we have the support. As for me, getting loads of support here and keeping up with my contentment and transformation challenge. No unnecessary spending, plenty of exercise and little by little Fi's Christmas stocking will get done.
Counted cross stitch...
One stitch, one step at a time, a little everyday makes a big difference. Wishing you love and support to get to where you want to be.  Happy Weekend!

  2. Your garden is just beautiful. I love pansies with their happy, little faces. Looks like you're making good progress on Fi's stocking. I see a Teddy bear building a snowman? Cute.

    1. Thanks CJ. I think the pansis are so cute too! It's coming along, not as impressive as your cross stitch work, but it will be nice for Santa to fill it!

  3. Your side garden is gorgeous. I would have cut the pansies and pressed them in a book to be used later in my art. But I'm a mixed media artist, not a calligrapher (grin).

Your roses are doing so, so well. I have one bush and it seems to be dying. Yours all seem to thrive so well. Hope your weekend is as enjoyable as your garden.

    1. Thank you Elizabeth. I will have to try pressing a few. I don't have your address, but if you can send it to me, I will forward you some. I may try some mixed media, it seems a little daunting, but I don't have to display it. The circular file could work. Happy weekend.

  4. I envy your garden...so lovely and colorful. I shall be a gardener in my next life...I also love the idea of pressing the pansies. I have a flower my mother pressed before she died, 13 years ago. Amazing how long they last.

    1. Thank you Honore. I love my garden. There is a lovely scent from the roses at my door. I relish it every time I come in or out. My dad was a gardener, so when I garden, I always think that he is with me. I hope you feel like that when you look at your mom's pansies. I will think of you and Elizabeth, who gave me the idea when I press some. Wishing you a breezy Monday!
