Mail on Monday...and a little

Hello, watercolor.  It's been a while since I pulled out my watercolors. I forgot how much fun it is.

Bittersweet  vines remind me of fall, and so does this tiny little leaf I found on my walk this morning.
Some of the mail I have received include 2 great ones from Jean.

This was black and white when I received it, which I loved. I had it sitting on my desk for a while, and decided I would color it in. I think it looks great both ways, and plan on using her design on an envelope in the future.
What is the formula here?
Not sure, but an awesome idea.
I loved how unique this envelope is. Jean always has some fabulous ideas; this one will take some time and effort to copy...so, it will be a while before I am up for the challenge. Hands down, these are the best stamps I ever received on an envelope! If it is possible to absolutely love postage stamps, then I absolutely love these.   
Letters mingle souls is the caption.

As for me, I woke up in a great mood...must have been the fun weekend, and finishing off the night with some Mill River wine and fine chocolates!
Wine and chocolate pair nicely...

Nothing says traditions like a holiday...and in our house Birthdays have always been treated like holidays! We hold firmly to the belief that if there is a day you are ever going to celebrate, it's the day you were born. Luckily for Fi, her birthday is October 8, which coincides with Columbus day this year, extending the Birthday to Birthday weekend. Get Mail, Set Sail...T stands for Tall Ships

The tall ships are in Boston this weekend. They arrived Saturday, and it was foggy.  Luckily, we had been invited to a party on Sunday... on a chartered yacht. I think I missed my calling.. Seas the day! I's a birthday party! Sunday proved to have fantastic weather, with quite a breeze to keep us comfortable. Boston Harbor Wind in our hair This was the perfect occasion to pull out my Lilly Pulitzer you gotta regatta dress! And boy did we regatta! The crew circulated with all sorts of appetizers and I had  a spiked cranberry seltzer... Boston with a twist and a little kick. Here are some of the ships we saw on our voyage Seen in Boston... Fi and me We cruised down as far as Hull and then it was back to City. Boston skyline Zakim Bridge Docked and back on dry land, we will remember our birthday bash on the water for quite a while. T stands for Transformation..

and nothing transforms like a butterfly...the metamorphosis is symbolic to so many cultures and religions. The butterfly offers an explanation of the life cycle, and in Christian faiths a symbol of resurrection. In Asian culture, butterflies symbolize long life and love. Native Americans see the butterfly as a symbol of color, change and joy. For them, wishes whispered to the butterfly rise to the heavens. To many people throughout the world, the butterfly symbolizes hope and change. Is it any wonder that I am always on the lookout for them? On our day trip to Ogunquit, I saw some beautiful gardens, lots of color, the ocean, and butterflies... spotted some butterflies... These butterflies were fluttering around in the beautiful gardens outside the Ogunquit Museum of American art. The sculpture garden, flowers and view were amazing. Art and Nature combined.. From here we walked the Marginal Way at Ogunquit, another of my favorite spots... Spectacula...
