 In the garden, the crocuses are blooming. Hyacinths, Tulips and Daffodils are starting to peek through. I planted a lot of bulbs in the fall, so I am excited to see the results. Spring, happy mail, and flowers make me smile. Wishing you sunshine and smiles too.

    I've seen a lot of pretty crocus blooming on our walks. We have critters who habitually ate ours, so no longer plant them. My son was excited when his popped up, and then a critter ate all of them. He was dismayed that they chopped the flowers off, but didn't even eat them---leaving them next to the greenery. We've had the same trouble with tulips, but Tracy potted some in pots and they've poked through. Hope you're enjoying the same gorgeous weather we are!

    I haven't seen signs of crocus yet, maybe later this week if the weather stays nice. We planted lots of bulbs one year, but a warm stretch in Feb. got them confused and they started to bloom and then we got lots of snow. What did survive the cold, the critters ate. I heard critters don’t like daffodils so that’s what got planted.

It was refreshing to read about Nina Totenberg and her friendship with Ruth Bader Ginsberg, as well as with Cokie Roberts.  I am sure this will end up on my favorites of 2023.   Art in Bloom Art in Bloom is being celebrated as a rite of Spring fundraising for art museums and libraries . In museums, floral designers create a piece to coordinate art on display. Local libraries and Chamber of Commerce combine their efforts with local art guilds and garden clubs to host a fun evening event. Libraries, art, flowers…what’s not to love? I decided this was an event I wanted to be involved in, both on the art and floral design aspect. First up: the display case, I asked Fiona for help on this. Here’s what we put together for the event. This is my first year participating, but it provided a great opportunity to put my art to good use. Happy Spring. Bloom where you’re planted.

T stands for time together...in Ireland.  Heading to Ireland for a mini break provides a welcome respite from hustle and bustle. It's a chance to enjoy life at a slower pace, and get outside and enjoy nature. There is no place that we find as peaceful, and walking the country roads never gets old. Fortunately the weather cooperated, and the days are long...daylight until almost 10 o'clock at night, which leaves plenty of time for walking everyday. Our range was between 6 and 13 miles per day, making the most of our time outside. Not many people on our route, but not short of company. The dairy farm and creamery is just down the road, so you know our milk is fresh!  Sometimes, after a long walk, a cuppa and a biscuit aren't enough.
