T stands for Trolls

 Fi and I took a ride to Maine Botanical Gardens to visit the trolls.

I love the gardens here and we really wanted to see these fantastic sculptures by Danish artist, Thomas Damko in the Guardian of the Seeds installation.


The trolls were enormous and it was fun to explore and find them, hidden in plain sight. Not to mention the fabulous flowers.




Such beautiful flowers and unique trolls made the long drive worthwhile and gave us lots to smile about.

We enjoyed a picnic lunch and stopped for an ice cream at Ben and Jerry’s in Freeport to break up the car ride home. A fun garden adventure day with more to come.

    We get products from Stonewall Kitchen at our neighborhood grocery store! Fun trolls, they are huge indeed. I enjoyed seeing all the lovely flowers. Happy T day!

    Such fabulous adventures which bring back happy memories from my holidays in Maine 😀. Those trolls are delightful and Stonewall Kitchen and Freeport are some of my favourites too!     We heard about trolls in Iceland. Yours look very much like the one in the Harry Potter movie.

    I was SO glad you shared your day at Maine Botanical Gardens. I was glad you showed part of a woman in the first one, because it gave a perspective of how large these trolls actually are. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the trolls and the flowers, too. That is a beautiful place indeed.

    I've never heard of Stonewall Kitchen, but it's obvious others have. I guess we in the midwest are the last to know about anything. Your breakfast looks delicious and the iced drink was probably the smart move on a hot day. Thanks for sharing your trip to Maine's Botanical Gardens, the trolls, the flowers, your breakfast, and your iced drink (coffee?) you and Fi had for T this week. Now if my comment will publish, I'll be happy like you and Fi look in your selfie.

    I'm a huge fan of Botanical Gardens and these look wonderful. Not so much a fan of trolls, but do think exhibits like this are always worth the effort it takes to get there.

Nothing says traditions like a holiday...and in our house Birthdays have always been treated like holidays! We hold firmly to the belief that if there is a day you are ever going to celebrate, it's the day you were born. Luckily for Fi, her birthday is October 8, which coincides with Columbus day this year, extending the Birthday to Birthday weekend. T stands for Transformation..

and nothing transforms like a butterfly...the metamorphosis is symbolic to so many cultures and religions. The butterfly offers an explanation of the life cycle, and in Christian faiths a symbol of resurrection. In Asian culture, butterflies symbolize long life and love. Native Americans see the butterfly as a symbol of color, change and joy. For them, wishes whispered to the butterfly rise to the heavens. To many people throughout the world, the butterfly symbolizes hope and change. Is it any wonder that I am always on the lookout for them? On our day trip to Ogunquit, I saw some beautiful gardens, lots of color, the ocean, and butterflies... spotted some butterflies... These butterflies were fluttering around in the beautiful gardens outside the Ogunquit Museum of American art. The sculpture garden, flowers and view were amazing. Art and Nature combined.. From here we walked the Marginal Way at Ogunquit, another of my favorite spots... Spectacula...

T stands for Tranquility amid the turbulence...

Every click of the television remote or blast from the radio brings more aggressive news of hateful words and actions.  The stress of the situation is exacerbated by the sad fact that I have no impact over the current environment.  All of the lessons of history seem to be lost.   I can only hope that at some point peace, respect and common sense prevail.  Amid all of this discord and hostility, Nish and I went in search of some tranquility. There is no place it is easier  to find than in nature, so we headed to Heritage Museum and Gardens in Sandwich. Majestic trees Beautiful Vista And then we moved through the labyrinth.
