Mail on Monday

A snowy Saturday with record 24 hour snowfall of 22 inches was the perfect day to catch up on some card making. It all started with a snowflake!

A variety of cards and a variety of techniques

I was trying to catch up on some mail exchanges and made great progress.
I love these stamps from Spellbinders. I experimented with alcohol inks a while back. I couldn’t figure out how to use the results but I kept the sheets in my stash. It made the perfect wintry background. I also played around with color layering of paper which is great color wheel practice. Some navy and white paper for die cuts, watercolor practice and some brush and pointed pen calligraphy and I was almost finished. While I was enjoying myself with art, Eugene and Eoghan tackled the snow removal.
The snowblower helped
The kids bought Eugene a snowblower almost 5 years ago. At the time he didn’t think he needed it, but he has grown to love it! Our neighbors refer to it as the gift that keeps on giving.
I thought they deserved a little something when they got in so Fiona and I made a homemade apple pie.
Fresh out of the oven
Stay cozy, stay warm!

  1. Those cards look like a good way to spend the snowy day. And you did get snow, more than us. And another storm is heading our way at the end of the week. Maybe we will be lucky and it will be all rain. We can hope. Yes those ice photos were at Salisbury. I'd love to meet up there sometime, or even another beach. And if you make another delicious looking pie, you could bring it along for a picnic-smile. Happy start of February Nan. hugs-Erika

  2. What a great way to use your time inside! The results are wonderful. A snow blower here is a necessity, not a luxury. Our driveway is under our livingroom, so it's like shoveling a hill. Unfortunately, a big storm is headed our way tomorrow, and our snowblower is in the shop waiting for a replacement part. Thinking our son will have to come over and "blow" us out! Stay warm and cozy!
