    It was freezing...we didn't walk too far, but look at that blue sky. The color was fantastic!

    Here 11:11 on the 11th of the 11th is the signal for beginning the carnival season in crazy towns like Düsseldorf and Cologne, so a lot of people would have been out and celebrating! Hugs, Valerie

Patriots Day is a holiday here...a funny sort of holiday, because some people have off and others don't. Fortunately for me, Fi had off, so that meant some quality time together. I am a firm believer if there is an opportunity for fun together, you need to go for it and make it special in some small way. We started our day with a trip to Swiss Bakers, whose motto is "our food makes you feel good". No false advertising there, they are right. swiss bakers, store front ham and cheese croissant We were fortunate enough to find Swiss Bakers through a groupon deal a few years ago, and it was a find. It's not a big place, but it has a variety of savory and sweet croissants, freshly baked breads, and rolls.  So that we would make the most of our visit, we grabbed a raspberry almond croissant for that evening. Get Mail, Set Sail...T stands for Tall Ships

The tall ships are in Boston this weekend. They arrived Saturday, and it was foggy.  Luckily, we had been invited to a party on Sunday... on a chartered yacht. I think I missed my calling.. Seas the day! I's a birthday party! Sunday proved to have fantastic weather, with quite a breeze to keep us comfortable. Boston Harbor Wind in our hair This was the perfect occasion to pull out my Lilly Pulitzer you gotta regatta dress! And boy did we regatta! The crew circulated with all sorts of appetizers and I had  a spiked cranberry seltzer... Boston with a twist and a little kick. Here are some of the ships we saw on our voyage Seen in Boston... Fi and me We cruised down as far as Hull and then it was back to City. Boston skyline Zakim Bridge Docked and back on dry land, we will remember our birthday bash on the water for quite a while. Favorite Read this month

 I am a big fan of NPR and RBG and this book came highly recommended. It was refreshing to read about Nina Totenberg and her friendship with Ruth Bader Ginsberg, as well as with Cokie Roberts.  I am sure this will end up on my favorites of 2023. I’ve been busy with some art projects, but always keep reading on my daily list of things to to. It’s my way of winding down at night. It’s always nice to curl up with a good book. Happy reading!
