T stands for throngs

Fi and I headed out for a mini shopping expedition. First up Target for a few essentials, then Barnes and Noble for more essentials ( at least in our minds) Starbucks Latte and BoOkS!! And then we headed to our destination of choice...Wegman's food store

We joined the throngs of people for the grand opening on Sunday morning, and it was jam packed. Wegmans is new to our area, and will prove stiff competition to Whole Foods and Trader Joes. So much delicious food on offer. We opted to pick up some Sushi and a bottle of Sangria...nice for a treat.  We opted for the Spicy Shrimp Po Boy.  Although pretty, we decided to pass on the Dragon Fruit..

And then we finished off with a sampling dessert tray. Yum, followed by menu planning, but it is lovely to have an occasional treat.
Delicious desserts, but not in the cookbook.
We saw this glass at The Paper Store and I think it fits perfectly with this weeks T stands for...
Just a thought...

    What a fabulous day out! I remember Target from my visits to America and time spent looking at books and enjoying a cuppa sounds delightful 😁. Sushi is my favourite and I would happily join you for the sangria and dessert selection too - yum!     Rochester is the home of Wegmans, and their flagship store in Pittsford is my grocery store. I never take them for granted! Great produce, wonderful baked goods, and delicious prepared foods when you don't have time to cook. Don't think I've seen a spicy shrimp Po'boy, though, but now I'll be on the lookout for it!

    I really enjoyed reading about your day out with Fi. You are SO lucky. We have no Whole Foods or Trader Joe's here, and I have never heard of Wegmans. Shopped at the first two in CA., though. You are lucky to have such diverse choices.

    I want to sample that dessert, too, but you can keep the sushi. Especially if it's packaged.

    I laughed and laughed at that glass. It was simply wonderful. Thanks for sharing your beautiful card, your trip around town, and the glass you found for T this Tuesday. Still laughing!

    No Whole Foods, Trader Joe's or Wegman's here. I envy you, Nan ;-) You and Fi put together quite a scrumptious meal. The dessert sampler looks like dessert trays in expensive restaurants. I hope it tasted as good as it looked. Thanks for taking us along on your shopping trip.

    It sounds like a great day out and the visit to the new food store sounded good.
    The taster dessert pack looked delicious.
    I also smiled as I read the words on the glass, no chance of me opting for salad if those cakes were on offer.

    Oooh, Wegman's. We visit one occassionally in Northborough. So much stuff. Everything you can imagine. Their bakery is awesome. Be sure to go back around February or March. They will have Sumo oranges for sale. Cute and ugly at the same time, but so delicious! Love your card and envelope. You know, I never thought of lining the envelope flap. Happy T Day!

    I have two Wegman's stores in my area and it is my weekly shopping trip (besides some in betweens)- I love this place!! Sounds like some wonderful treats you all enjoyed. I must say I got a kick out of the dessert pic with the magazine on the left with an article on healthy and bikini bodies:):) I like that drinking glass.     We have a Whole Foods but not Wegman's or Trader Joe's. I haven't even heard of Wegman's before. Most of my shopping is done in one of the huge Krogers. Boring, but they have what I need. I'm getting a big kick out of the glass lol Happy T Tuesday!

    So nice to get out with a friend... Well i don't have a WholeFoods or a TraderJoes nearby nor this new store you mentioned.. We are Walmart shoppers thru and thru.. Dragon fruit is so pretty but not much flavor i found.. so glad you could share tea with us Nan.. Love that saying on that cup... too true!! Happy T day! Hugs! deb

Nothing says traditions like a holiday...and in our house Birthdays have always been treated like holidays! We hold firmly to the belief that if there is a day you are ever going to celebrate, it's the day you were born. Luckily for Fi, her birthday is October 8, which coincides with Columbus day this year, extending the Birthday to Birthday weekend. T stands for Transformation..

and nothing transforms like a butterfly...the metamorphosis is symbolic to so many cultures and religions. The butterfly offers an explanation of the life cycle, and in Christian faiths a symbol of resurrection. In Asian culture, butterflies symbolize long life and love. Native Americans see the butterfly as a symbol of color, change and joy. For them, wishes whispered to the butterfly rise to the heavens. To many people throughout the world, the butterfly symbolizes hope and change. Is it any wonder that I am always on the lookout for them? On our day trip to Ogunquit, I saw some beautiful gardens, lots of color, the ocean, and butterflies... spotted some butterflies... These butterflies were fluttering around in the beautiful gardens outside the Ogunquit Museum of American art. The sculpture garden, flowers and view were amazing. Art and Nature combined.. From here we walked the Marginal Way at Ogunquit, another of my favorite spots... Spectacula...

T stands for Tranquility amid the turbulence...

Every click of the television remote or blast from the radio brings more aggressive news of hateful words and actions.  The stress of the situation is exacerbated by the sad fact that I have no impact over the current environment.  All of the lessons of history seem to be lost.   I can only hope that at some point peace, respect and common sense prevail.  Amid all of this discord and hostility, Nish and I went in search of some tranquility. There is no place it is easier  to find than in nature, so we headed to Heritage Museum and Gardens in Sandwich. Majestic trees Beautiful Vista And then we moved through the labyrinth.
