Aine and Deet’s dining room is ready for Christmas. New windows, all new wainscoting crafted by Deets, walls primed and painted by Aine create a warm and welcoming room for my parents’ dining room set. So many wonderful memories and meals were enjoyed at this table. It’s nice to see it being used again, and new memories being created here.

    The table looks beautiful. They did a super job and it fits that room perfectly. I love the baking photo of your girls hiding behind their cookbooks. They have awesome shirts for the event too.     What a lovely newly refinished dining room table. You definitely don't see a whole lot of wainscoting anymore, so that was a treat. Looks like you had quite a festive Christmas meal with my favorite color blue, too.

    Your mimosas look wonderful. You are the second person today who shared them at their Christmas meal. Erika did, too. What joyful shots of the girls ready to bake.     They've done a great job, it all looks wonderful! Brunch looks good - one of my favourite things to eat when we go to France. Not many places do brunch in the UK.

Nothing says traditions like a holiday...and in our house Birthdays have always been treated like holidays! We hold firmly to the belief that if there is a day you are ever going to celebrate, it's the day you were born. Luckily for Fi, her birthday is October 8, which coincides with Columbus day this year, extending the Birthday to Birthday weekend. T stands for Transformation..

and nothing transforms like a butterfly...the metamorphosis is symbolic to so many cultures and religions. The butterfly offers an explanation of the life cycle, and in Christian faiths a symbol of resurrection. In Asian culture, butterflies symbolize long life and love. Native Americans see the butterfly as a symbol of color, change and joy. For them, wishes whispered to the butterfly rise to the heavens. To many people throughout the world, the butterfly symbolizes hope and change. Is it any wonder that I am always on the lookout for them? On our day trip to Ogunquit, I saw some beautiful gardens, lots of color, the ocean, and butterflies... spotted some butterflies... These butterflies were fluttering around in the beautiful gardens outside the Ogunquit Museum of American art. The sculpture garden, flowers and view were amazing. Art and Nature combined.. From here we walked the Marginal Way at Ogunquit, another of my favorite spots... Spectacula...

T stands for Tranquility amid the turbulence...

Every click of the television remote or blast from the radio brings more aggressive news of hateful words and actions.  The stress of the situation is exacerbated by the sad fact that I have no impact over the current environment.  All of the lessons of history seem to be lost.   I can only hope that at some point peace, respect and common sense prevail.  Amid all of this discord and hostility, Nish and I went in search of some tranquility. There is no place it is easier  to find than in nature, so we headed to Heritage Museum and Gardens in Sandwich. Majestic trees Beautiful Vista And then we moved through the labyrinth.
