T stands for two times this year
Last week was a beautiful week of unseasonably warm weather, so we headed off to do some apple picking. Our favorite orchard was having a sale - buy a bag, get a second bag for free. Hard to resist since we love strolling through the orchard and picking the very best apples. Plus we had just finished the apples from our first trip.
Apples in abundance.
They told us this was a great year for apples and there were still a lot on the trees. The weather hadn’t been as good for veggie growing, and they said pumpkins and gourds were scarce. There were pumpkins in our future though. Fi and I are taking a watercolor class and the last assignment was negative painting with pumpkins as the subject. . In negative painting, you paint the background first and fill in the shapes, not trying to paint the subject but it emerges as the painting goes on. Very challenging.
So glad you got a real bargain on apples and got a nice lovely walk in the process. Did you buy any cider? I would have.
ReplyDeleteYour painting must be challenging. It was so fun to see the beauty you painted. It's lovely. Thanks for sharing your trip to the apple farm and your pumpkin painting with us for T this Tuesday, dear Nan.
Sounds like a great day at the orchard. I hope you got some apple cider doughnuts! Your painting is awesome! Happy T Day
ReplyDeleteI've never picked my own apples, but it sounds like a fun activity. Your painting is impressive. I have trouble enough with watercolor at the most basic level. This sounds challenging! Happy T Day
ReplyDeleteIt might have been challenging, but the end result is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to stroll through an orchard and choose your own apples, love your pumpkin painting too. Happy T Day Elle/EOTC xx
ReplyDeleteLooks like you're having fun and how wonderful to pick your own apples! Your painting is beautiful, you are so talented my friend 😀. Happy Friday and weekend! Hugs Jo x
